RiderTua.com – Honda already has electric cars that it sells on the global market, although the models are only available in a number of countries. However, this is still not enough to catch up, not to mention brands like BYD and Tesla which continue to dominate. So Honda decided to collaborate with Nissan to develop electric cars. Both of them will create a BEV model to tackle their competitors.
Honda will Develop BEV Cars with Nissan
Actually, regarding electric cars, Honda has been able to develop them itself, even though the numbers are still very small. Not to mention that they stopped selling models like the ‘e’ several months ago because sales did not meet expectations. Even so, now they sell electric-powered SUVs, such as the e:N1 which they launched last year.
However, in recent months, brands such as BYD and Tesla have continued to expand their dominance in the BEV market. It doesn’t stop there, BYD has a fairly complete line-up when compared to its competitors, both Tesla and Honda. They have even landed in Japan, with one of their cars, the Dolphin, becoming the best electric car there.

Block BYD Domination
It seems that this is what made Honda start to be wary of the presence of its strongest competitor, but it is clear that they cannot do it alone. They are collaborating with Nissan to expand their electric vehicle line-up. Both will look for ways to cut the production costs of BEV cars, so they can sell them at more affordable prices.
However, they must be quick to realize this collaboration before reaching the target in 2030. At that time they must reach the car sales figures that have been previously set. It is clear that it will not be an easy matter if Nissan and Honda are blocked by BYD et al.
So they will try to find ways to block the dominance of their competitors. This collaboration with Honda will not disrupt Nissan’s alliance with Mitsubishi and Renault.
