Honda to Release More HEV Cars?

However, Honda still wants to present other environmentally friendly cars. Of course, it is still focused on hybrid cars, not electric.

Honda Still Has Other Hybrid Cars

The environmentally friendly car market still provides more opportunities for car brands in Indonesia. So it’s not surprising that more and more models are now being offered, from hybrid, PHEV, to electric. However, this is different for Honda, which prefers to only sell hybrid cars.

In fact, when compared to electric cars, HEV cars have quite high demand in the market. Moreover, there are still many consumers who depend on cars with conventional engines, but they are more environmentally friendly and have efficient fuel consumption. So Honda wants to focus on selling this type of car first.

Because there are only two models on sale, Honda will present another HEV model in Indonesia. They have targeted to achieve the ‘zero emission’ target by 2040, and to achieve this, they must increase their line-up of environmentally friendly cars in a number of countries. And this is the target in the next few years.

Whatever HEV model will be launched in Indonesia after this, Honda will remain focused on selling hybrid cars. Even though they actually brought the ‘e’ model last year, this electric car was only shown as a trial. Moreover, this city car has been discontinued since the beginning of this year.

Even with the BEV market continuing to grow, Honda is adamant about staying in the hybrid car market. This market is considered to have quite large potential.
