RiderTua.com – MotoGP always gives surprises. Fermin Aldeguer, who currently races in Moto2 and Ducati, has successfully signed a 2+2 year MotoGP contract and the official announcement has been made. This means that he has been confirmed to race in the MotoGP class next season, but it has not been announced which Ducati team he will join. However, there is no doubt that he will occupy Ducati’s junior team, namely Pramac Racing.
Fermin Aldeguer Rider is Fast, Skillful and Cheap
The value of Aldeguer’s contract is estimated at “only” 300,000 euros, which is equivalent to around 5 billion rupiah. This amount is much lower (less than 1/24) compared to Pecco’s latest contract value which reached 7 million euros, or around 120 billion rupiah. This difference in contract value shows that Ducati has different demands on their riders.

In the world of motor racing, the value of a rider’s contract is an important indicator to assess the extent of the team’s confidence in the rider’s abilities and potential. Ducati, as one of the leading bike racing teams in the world, certainly has its own criteria and considerations in determining the value of its rider contracts. In this case, the difference in contract value between Aldeguer and Pecco is quite striking. Aldeguer, who is still a young rider and has just moved up to the MotoGP class (next year), has a relatively low contract value when compared to experienced riders like Pecco. This could be because Ducati sees Aldeguer as a rider who has great potential but still needs time to develop and show his abilities at the highest level. On the other hand, Pecco, who has proven himself as a competitive rider and a top rider in MotoGP, has a much higher contract value. This shows that Ducati has high confidence in Pecco’s abilities (with two titles) and hopes he can produce even better results in the future. Apart from that, the difference in contract value may also reflect differences in the targets and expectations that Ducati has for its two riders. Perhaps Ducati sees Aldeguer as a future rider that they can develop and take to a higher level, while Pecco is expected to provide more consistent results and achieve higher achievements in a relatively short time. In the competitive world of motor racing, the value of a rider’s contract is not just a number, but also reflects the team’s strategy and vision for the future. Ducati, as a successful and experienced bike racing team, certainly has careful consideration in determining the value of Aldeguer and Pecco’s contracts.
Back to the Ducati rider program
Ducati’s demands on riders are: fast, skilled and cheap and Fermin Aldeguer is a reflection of that, as Ducati has recently focused increasingly on budget savings. Apart from that, the Pramac team also stated that they would return to the initial concept, namely a team that develops young riders, so in this sense it will be difficult for Martin and Morbidelli to survive next season…
The announcement of Aldeguer’s initial contract is like a ‘soft dismissal’ for Jorge Martin, who has strongly indicated that he will leave the Pramac team, and at the same time, it is also a strong pressure on Morbidelli, who said that he knows for sure that the rider’s fate will depend on performance. Not announcing which team Aldeguer will join (Pramac for example) is a wise gesture (not to offend Martin and Morbidelli).
Actually, Martin has decided to leave the Pramac team. The same goes for Franky. Unless he shows good results in the next few races of the season, he will be replaced by younger, cheaper riders, or he will have to prepare for a significant pay cut. Will Morbidelli join the VR46 team, which is rumored to be a Yamaha satellite team and Franky will also return to using the Yamaha M1 which is not suitable for him.
