Daihatsu and Toyota Almost Disturbed by Crash Test Scandal
Even though it is well known as one of Japan’s best-selling automotive manufacturers, perhaps many people don’t think that Daihatsu can manipulate crash tests. Worse yet, they are said to have been doing it for several years, but it has only been revealed now. Moreover, there are so many models affected, and involve models that are quite popular, such as the Avanza, Gran Max, and Vios/Yaris Ativ.
Toyota ensures that all this will not have such a bad impact on its sales, and Daihatsu also expressed the same thing. If you look at the sales, there is nothing really different about the sales. Sales Still Smooth
Even for models like the Gran Max, which was the model that failed the repeat crash test in Japan previously. Indeed, the Gran Max sold there is a model assembled by Daihatsu in Indonesia, but that only has a big influence on its sales in Japan. Apart from that, export cars sometimes have a higher level of features compared to cars sold domestically.
Meanwhile for Toyota, they are still selling cars as usual, even though the Avanza experienced this problem. However, sales performance is still quite good, with thousands of units sold throughout January. Even though the Avanza was withdrawn by Toyota in Indonesia a few weeks ago, it still has nothing to do with the scandal that befell Daihatsu.
