MG Motor Ready to Release a New Car in Indonesia

It’s just that MG Motor did not provide details about its newest car. However, it is strongly suspected that the model in question is none other than a VS HEV hybrid car.

MG Motor will Launch a New Car in Two Days

Electric cars have now become one of the mainstays for MG Motor in Indonesia, especially after the ZS EV and 4 EV were produced locally. Now they have four BEV models after releasing the ES EV and Maxus 9 at the IIMS 2024 automotive exhibition. Although unlike the previous two models, these premium station wagons and MPVs were imported from abroad.

So far the car line-up has been sufficient to contribute to sales so far, but that is not enough. Moreover, with the increasing expansion of the four-wheeled market in Indonesia, MG Motor is interested in adding another new car. They then prepared a new model which will be launched on March 21.

VS HEV?

From the teaser he distributed, there is a strong possibility that this new MG car will be none other than the VS HEV. As previously known, the presence of this car has been awaited for a long time, especially after MG Motor admitted that it wanted to present a hybrid car in Indonesia. Even though they now rely on sales from electric cars, of course there is no harm in trying other environmentally friendly car segments.

The VS HEV is actually a variant of the ZS, although with a much different design. Especially regarding the engine, where the VS relies on a hybrid engine, while the ZS has its own electric version. This model was first launched in Southeast Asia in 2022, specifically in Thailand.

If it is true that this model is a VS HEV, they can finally enter the hybrid car market with this model. However, it has not been confirmed whether the model will be assembled locally or not.
