Daihatsu Doesn’t Want to Rush into Presenting Electric Commercial Cars

RiderTua.com – Daihatsu has still led light commercial car sales in Indonesia for the last few years. Meanwhile, the segment is now filled with BEV models such as the Mitsubishi L100 EV and DFSK Gelora E. Even with the presence of these two models, Daihatsu does not want to rush into presenting a similar model. Including considering releasing an electric version of the Gran Max.

Daihatsu Has a BEV Version of the Gran Max Concept

Electrification in Indonesia continues to grow every year, and the models sold are also increasingly diverse. Including light commercial cars which now have this variant, such as those sold by Mitsubishi and DFSK. Both of them have sold the L100 EV and Gelora E respectively, even though the models are still vans.

However, unlike its two competitors, Daihatsu does not want to join in launching electric-powered light commercial cars. They said that they still wanted to see how big its potential was in the market when it was ready to be launched. It’s just that the problem is that there is no visible potential, even if there is, this type of car is still ideal for use in urban areas.

No Potential Yet?

Meanwhile, Daihatsu actually has a Vizion-F concept model that looks like an electric version of the Gran Max Minibus. Even though it looks quite promising, they emphasized that the model cannot be launched immediately and still needs to be developed further. Of course, this BEV car can be well received in the market.

So it could be said that the Vizion-F has the potential to be sold in Indonesia, even though Daihatsu cannot sell it at this time. Moreover, to catch up with Mitsubishi and DFSK which have launched BEV models of their light commercial cars. They don’t want to rush to launch it before the time comes, and they will release it right away.
