Tesla is Eyeing Thailand as a Production Location for its Electric Cars

RiderTua.com – Even though Tesla has faced several problems with its cars, they are still one of the best-selling brands globally. Even though the title of best-selling electric car brand last year was taken by BYD, they are still expanding their sales network in a number of countries. Like in Southeast Asia, which has been a target for Tesla for a long time. However, they have plans to build a factory in Thailand.

Tesla Still Wants to Expand Its Market Worldwide

Tesla‘s name is still quite well known throughout the world, although recently they have become known for the many recalls they have carried out. Like what they just did a few months ago, where they recalled millions of cars just because the indicator lights were too small. They are also faced with problems such as problematic autopilot and even front tires that can break by themselves.

Despite these problems, Tesla continues to expand its market throughout the world. They should be able to start sales in Southeast Asia, but until now they haven’t been seen. Now news has emerged about Tesla targeting Thailand as the location for its electric car production factory in this region.

Lots of Delays

Tesla is reported to have made quite a large investment there, although the funds also came from other large companies such as Microsoft and Google. Whatever it is, they can be ready to assemble their electric cars at any time, as long as the factory is ready to be set up there. However, like Kia, who knows when they will start, because it is only in the planning stage.

Previously, Tesla also planned to invest in Malaysia and Indonesia, especially in assembling batteries for its electric cars. Obviously this is the most important because the battery is always the cause of the high selling price of a car. It is not surprising why the BEV car brand from the United States is targeting Indonesia, because it is a location where nickel resources are quite abundant.
