Kia Ready to Release the Latest Electric Car in Indonesia This Year

RiderTua.com – The Kia EV9 GT Line electric car is the first environmentally friendly model in Indonesia. Even though it is priced quite expensive, this electric-powered SUV is able to attract the attention of consumers who are curious about its performance and features. But Kia won’t just sell one BEV model. This year they plan to release another new model.

Kia will Launch a New BEV Model This Year

Kia has just launched its newest car for this year in the form of the Sonet Night Edition. This small SUV has an all-black exterior and interior, and is sold for around IDR 350 million. But it turns out that this model is one of six new cars that will be launched in 2024.

Kia explained that there will be two other new models released until July, while three other models will follow until the end of this year. The two new models consist of a B segment SUV and an MPV, whether the MPV in question is the latest Carnival model or not. Meanwhile, one of the three models that will be released later is an electric car.

New Variant

However, Kia explained that the electric car in question was a new variant of an existing model, not a new model like the EV9. Although they didn’t explain it in detail, it is possible that the model in question is the BEV variant of the Niro. Or at least the hybrid variant of the Sorento, even though this model was sold in Indonesia.

Currently the information available is still very limited, and Kia itself does not want to explain it further. It is possible that this BEV model will be launched when the GIIAS 2024 automotive exhibition is held around August. That sounds reasonable, considering they launched the EV9 GT Line at GIIAS last year.

Whatever the model, Kia is ready to release more new cars in Indonesia. A number of them will be new models or refreshments for models already sold here.
