Wuling Binguo is Able to Outperform Air EV Sales

RiderTua.com – Even though the Wuling Binguo has just been released, this electric car was able to attract the attention of Indonesian consumers after its release. This is proven by its sales in January which reached 1.8 thousand units, outperforming its strongest rival, the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Interestingly, Wuling’s new car also beat Air EV sales. Even though the selling price difference is very large, the Air EV is even more affordable.

Wuling Leads Electric Car Sales Last Month

Binguo is present as Wuling‘s second electric car in Indonesia, before the Cloud EV was released, and completes the ‘ABC’ BEV line-up from this manufacturer. Unlike the Air EV which has smaller dimensions, the Binguo’s larger dimensions allow it to carry more passengers and luggage. Including the longer distance traveled.

This model will only be released in December 2023, but there are already thousands of consumers interested in Binguo. This is proven by the sales results last month, where this model recorded sales of 1,876 units. Even Binguo was able to outperform the Hyundai Ioniq 5 which sold less than 500 units.

  1. Wuling Binguo: 1.876 units
  2. Hyundai Ioniq 5: 268 units
  3. MG 4 EV: 39 units
  4. Neta V: 39 units
  5. DFSK Seres E502: 27 units
  6. Kia EV9: 26 units
  7. BMW iX: 20 units
  8. DFSK Gelora E: 10 units
  9. Hyundai Ioniq 6: 7 units
  10. Wuling Air ev: 6 units

Competition is Tight

Meanwhile, the Air EV recorded not so good results, because only six units were sold during that period. Judging from the selling price, the Air EV should be superior to the Binguo or Cloud EV, but it seems that’s not enough. Moreover, the competition is much tighter than in previous years.

With the release of Cloud EV, Wuling already knows that its three cars will compete with each other. However, they still rely on it in their market, even though the sales gap is quite different from each other.
