So far, overall car sales in Indonesia have reached 82k units at retail. Daihatsu itself sold 17.3k units last March. Daihatsu Records Increase in Car Sales
In the first three months of this year, car sales performance in Indonesia was still quite good. It’s just that last month sales experienced a decline in February due to a number of conditions such as the economic situation in the domestic market. Even though an automotive exhibition is held, sales usually do not increase until a month later.
Meanwhile, Daihatsu recorded sales of 17,352 units throughout March 2024, and this result increased 17.1 percent from last year. Apart from that, sales performance is also better than February, and this is already something good. Moreover, the overall sales contribution in Indonesia during the last month has reached 21.1 percent.
Daihatsu’s Three Best Selling Cars
Of the several models it sells, Sigra, Gran Max Pick-up, and Terios recorded quite a good increase in sales throughout last March. For example, Sigra experienced an increase in sales of up to 22.2 percent, Gran Max PU 21.2 percent, and Terios 17.6 percent. The 7-seater LCGC from Daihatsu remains its main sales contributor with more than 5k units sold.
Even though these three models are popular, other models such as Xenia, Ayla and Rocky are also sought after by consumers. Daihatsu was quite happy with the results it got in March and was able to provide better results than in February. While they don’t yet sell environmentally friendly cars, LCGC’s sales performance for SUVs is still quite helpful.
