RiderTua.com – Indeed, Honda is quite well known for its complete car line-up in Indonesia. Most of them are filled with SUVs which are quite popular in the market, as well as the LCGC Brio Satya which has remained its mainstay all this time. However, Honda is starting to rarely show its MPV car, namely the Mobilio. In fact, this model is no longer seen at automotive exhibitions, either at IIMS or GIIAS.
Honda Rarely Shows the Mobilio to the Public
The SUV segment has become Honda’s mainstay in recent years in Indonesia. Several models such as the CR-V, HR-V, and BR-V are selling well in the market, even selling thousands of units per month. Even so, they also rely on other models, such as the Brio, which has remained a contributor to their sales so far.
Of the many cars for sale, there is one model that is rarely shown to the public, and that model is none other than the Mobilio. Actually, this LMPV car is still being sold today, it’s just that it is more intended for the fleet segment. Moreover, the current model has never received a refresh, unlike rivals in its class which have entered the latest generation of models such as the Avanza-Xenia.

Keep Selling
Honda admitted that they would no longer display the Mobilio at a number of automotive exhibitions such as IIMS to GIIAS. However, this does not mean that the model is no longer sold, because sales are still recorded today. It’s just that the sales figures are not as high as they used to be, not to mention when compared with its competitors which can sell thousands of units.
This Japanese brand is now shifting its focus to selling 7-seater SUVs, such as the BR-V. Still, they will continue to sell Mobilio to meet demand in the fleet car market in Indonesia. Although Honda is not considering refreshing or overhauling it in the near future.
Currently Mobilio is far behind its rivals in the low MPV segment. But sales can still reach more than 1,000 units a year.
