This Citroen Electric Car Gets an Import Tariff Exemption Incentive

RiderTua.com – Citroen may have just returned to Indonesia after being absent for several years. But unlike before, they are presenting their flagship line-up of SUV cars, one of which is the e-C3 which they presented last year. Even though it is still imported from abroad, this Citroen BEV model gets a tax rate exemption incentive. This incentive is valid until 2026.

Citroen e-C3 is Now Exempt from Import Tariffs

The car market in Indonesia which has developed rapidly does not make Citroen afraid to return here. They bring several superior SUV models, which are models in their C series, such as the C3, C4, and C5. Not only that, they also present environmentally friendly models in the e-C3 and e-C4 models.

All the models it sells in Indonesia are still imported directly from abroad, especially the e-C3 which is imported from India. Even so, this Citroen electric car apparently has received incentives in the form of exemption from import tariffs. So with this the e-C3 can be sold at a more affordable price than the original price which is subject to import tariffs because it is a CBU car.

Production Soon

To be able to get this incentive, there are several requirements that must be met, such as a car manufacturer investing in electric cars in Indonesia or already having its own electric car assembly facility. Citroen will actually start production of the e-C3 in Indonesia in the near future, so that in the future they will no longer depend on imported models. However, for now they are still bringing in units from India.

The preparations were probably in the final stages, and if there were no other obstacles, they would start production soon. Maybe not only the e-C3 will be assembled, and Citroen could assemble other models here. Including the C3 Aircross which was just launched a few weeks ago.
