Is the Electric Pickup Car Market Starting to Grow?

RiderTua.com – Pickup cars have still had a lot of interest in recent years, with sales being quite good despite a series of mixed conditions in the market. It’s just that this market still lacks environmentally friendly models like passenger car models. So manufacturers started developing electric-powered double cabin pickup cars. As done by Tesla and Ford, which started selling the Cybertruck and F-150 Lightning.

Electrically Powered D-Cab Pickup Car Goes on Sale

Maybe for pickup cars, environmentally friendly variants could be a good choice. Because most cars of this type have petrol or diesel engines, which obviously can produce more emissions. Although several manufacturers have been able to present hybrid variants for both types of engines.

Still, there are manufacturers who are not satisfied with this, and they immediately present electric-powered d-cab pickups. Although Tesla introduced the Cybertruck first, Ford has already started sales of the F-150 Lightning. This model is quite famous and has been able to sell thousands of units since it was first released.

Japanese Car Brands are Starting to Fight Back

With Tesla and Ford already starting electrification in the pickup market, other competitors are starting to try to catch up. As is done by Toyota and Isuzu, where they will present BEV variants for the Hilux and D-Max in Thailand. Interestingly, both will be produced in the same year, namely 2025.

Then BYD will present a similar model, only it will be launched this year with the model being sold directly on the global market. This was due to a rule in his hometown regarding pickup cars that could not be used for more than 15 years. In addition, the maximum speed of this type of car cannot exceed 100 km/h.

But this means BYD has a chance to fight Ford, Tesla, Toyota and Isuzu. Moreover, they have also competed against Tesla in the BEV car market in recent months.
