BMW i5 Officially Launched in Indonesia

RiderTua.com – BMW already has a number of i-Series models sold in Indonesia, from SUVs to sedans. However, they feel that the line-up they have so far is still not enough to meet demand in the market. So BMW presents the i5 as another new i-Series model here. However, the official price will be announced starting next month.

BMW Presents Another New i-Series Model This Year

The i5 is one of the electric-powered sedans that BMW sells in the global market. In terms of design, it still maintains the kidney grille which has been the hallmark of the product so far, even though the model is a BEV car. To make it easier to distinguish it from the conventional model, a blue tint has been added to the headlights.

The elegant impression of the car is also shown in the interior, where BMW added a panoramic sunroof to provide lighting into the cabin. As a premium class car, the i5 has five driving modes, one of which is Efficient mode which can provide the car with a maximum mileage of up to 25 percent. This mode is suitable for those who want to use the car for long-distance travel.

Price Not Announced

In terms of performance, the i5 can produce 143 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque, and the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just six seconds. Relying on a battery with a capacity of 81.2 kWh, the car can travel as far as 582 km, and can go even further if using Efficient mode as explained previously. Charging can take 8.25 hours using an AC charger, and 30 minutes for a DC charger.

Even though it has been officially introduced, BMW is still not selling it for now. Moreover, they haven’t announced the selling price in Indonesia until next month. It is possible that the i5 will be priced quite expensively at more than IDR 2 billion, like other i-Series models.
