Hyundai Refreshes Ioniq 5, What’s New?

RiderTua.com – Hyundai still relies on the Ioniq 5 in the global market even with the presence of the Ioniq 6. It is clear that this electric car is one of its best-selling models because it has many fans in a large number of countries, including Indonesia. After a long time, Hyundai finally launched a refresh for the Ioniq 5. This refresh focuses on the battery which now has a larger capacity.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Now Gets a New Battery

Regarding the Ioniq 5, this electric SUV has been Hyundai‘s mainstay since it was first released in its Ioniq line-up. Not only in South Korea, this model is also quite popular in Indonesia, and even became the best-selling BEV car last year. Obviously, because the car is assembled locally, it can get incentives and be sold at an affordable price.

However, if you look at it, since it was first released, the Ioniq 5 has rarely received any updates. Realizing this, Hyundai then launched a refresh for the model, which provided slight changes to its appearance. The grille, bumper, rims and rear spoiler have been slightly changed to provide better aerodynamics for the car.

Minor Changes

The interior hasn’t changed much either, it’s just that the color of the dashboard has been made darker than before. Hyundai added additional buttons to control heating features, front seat ventilation, and the camera. The Ioniq 5 even has a remote rear seat folding feature and over-the-air infotainment.

Now the Ioniq 5 uses a larger capacity battery, increasing from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh, so the car can drive 533 km with the battery fully charged. Other updates are also provided to the car’s chassis, pillars and doors which are made stronger, as well as shock absorbers which can minimize vibrations on the road. This model also offers an N Line variant, which of course is different from the Ioniq 5 N model.

This update is only available in South Korea for now. Who knows when Hyundai will also release it in Indonesia after this.
