Because there have been two incidents involving this model, Chery has recalled the Omoda 5 there. Breakage of this part is considered very rare, but Chery had to recall the car for the safety of its users. It is recorded that there are 420 Omoda 5 units that must be handled to check whether the rear axle has been welded perfectly or not.
This recall only involves the Z and RZ variants, while the GT and Omoda E5 trims are not affected. It’s true that these two variants are not as popular as the GT trim, but Chery still has to carry out the recall. The Omoda E5 may have its own production separate from the conventional model.
