Now they sell the Ioniq series, with the Ioniq 5 always being their best-selling model. However, for some reason Hyundai was only able to record sales of up to 93 units for the Ioniq 5 last month. Meanwhile, the Ioniq 6 only sold one unit.
Hyundai Recorded 94 Units of Electric Cars Sold Last Month
Since first selling its electric cars in Indonesia, Hyundai has become increasingly known for its environmentally friendly products. After the old generation Ioniq Sedan and Kona Electric were no longer produced, they presented the Ioniq 5 and 6. Even though the Kona Electric is back on sale here, but in the new generation model, it is not yet on sale at this time.
The Ioniq 5 itself has been quite successful in recording impressive sales results over the last two years. This model can sell hundreds to thousands of units per month, and usually sells more than 2 thousand units each year. But for some reason, last March, sales of the Ioniq 5 only reached 93 units.
Competition is getting tougher
For the Ioniq 6 it was even worse, because this sedan only sold one unit, so throughout last month Hyundai only sold 94 units of electric cars. Of course this is quite surprising, because usually the Ioniq series can sell more than that. But if you look at it, competition in the BEV car market is now getting tougher, even tougher than the previous two years.
Moreover, with the presence of new competitors such as the Chery Omoda E5, as well as models that have begun to be assembled locally since the beginning of this year, such as the MG4 EV, it is clear that the Ioniq 5 is facing stiff resistance from its rivals. Although so far Hyundai is not thinking too much about it, considering that they are still making preparations for the production of electric car batteries in Indonesia.
