RiderTua.com – GWM (Great Wall Motor) has confirmed that it will assemble its cars in Indonesia around the second half of this year. Of the three brands it carries, only two brands sell their products here, namely Haval and Tank. GWM prefers to prioritize Haval for assembly first, especially the Jolion model. Although the H6 and Tank 500 will still be assembled, when it is time for them to be produced.
GWM Prioritizes Haval to be Assembled First
Currently, GWM only sells cars from Haval and Tank, while Ora will follow later. They already have a production site for their cars, using Mercedes-Benz car production facilities located in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java. Production is expected to start around the second half of this year.
The Tank 500 and Haval H6 have been sold on the market, and have received a good response from consumers, even though models like the Tank 500 are sold for more than IDR 1 billion. But GWM already has plans to assemble both so that they can be priced even cheaper. However, they will prioritize Haval first, especially the Jolion model.

Flagship SUV From Haval
As previously known, Jolion is one of Haval’s flagship SUVs, and the model is a hybrid car. GWM said that if Jolion was assembled locally, the selling price could be even more affordable. Moreover, Haval is focused on selling middle class SUVs, while Tank is more focused on premium class SUVs.
For Ora, GWM is indeed working to prepare sales and production in Indonesia. Including looking for partners as domestic suppliers of electric car batteries, of course this is done so that they do not import components from abroad. As well as selling it at a cheaper price.
