RiderTua.com – Suzuki had announced the recall of two of its cars in India, namely the Baleno and Wagon R. There are around thousands of units that need to be handled to fix potential problems with the car’s fuel pump. Of course, there are those who are worried that the Suzuki car recall could spread to other countries, such as Indonesia. Because the Baleno sold here is imported directly from India.
Car recalls due to problems with the fuel pump are actually not something surprising. Moreover, it is not only Suzuki that is withdrawing its cars, but also other brands such as Toyota-Daihatsu to Honda. This occurs due to a production defect from the component manufacturer, causing the engine to not start or stop working while the car is being driven.
Of course this is quite disturbing, there are even many manufacturers who experience potential problems with the fuel pump. After previously withdrawing the Jimny in Australia, Suzuki withdrew the Baleno and Wagon R in India for similar reasons. It is recorded that more than 16 thousand units are affected, and they will repair these components for free.
The problem is that the Baleno is also sold in other countries, including Indonesia. Of course, this does not rule out the possibility that the model will be withdrawn considering that Suzuki brought it directly from India in CBU form. However, for now they are still waiting for further information from the principal, and not all models will be withdrawn just like that.
Because export cars usually have different specifications from models sold in the domestic market. It’s just that because the problem related to the fuel pump has spread to other manufacturers, it’s clear that Suzuki can’t just keep quiet. Not to mention the Jimny 3-door which was recalled in Australia with similar problems some time ago.
Still, they wanted to wait until further notice. Apart from the Baleno, the Wagon R was actually sold in Indonesia as the Karimun Wagon R, before Suzuki stopped selling it.
