Jack Miller Admits It’s Difficult to Fight Acosta, Surprised by His Riding Style and Wants to Learn from the MotoGP Rookie?

RiderTua.com – Jack Miller admits that there is no chance against Acosta, the Australian rider was impressed with the GasGas rookie in Portimao.. in fact he is ready to learn from Acosta too, to be more competitive. The first half of the season is very important for almost all the riders, considering that the majority have contracts that expire at the end of 2024. Jack Miller is among them and will have to work hard to get well prepared next year. The feeling is that his seat at the factory KTM team is reserved for Pedro Acosta, who as a newcomer has already demonstrated a high level of performance on the track.

Jack Miller Admits It Was Difficult Against Acosta

In the last race in Portimao, the Australian rider achieved two fifth places. In the sprint he finished ahead of the Spanish rookie, while in Sunday’s main race he lost around 11 seconds to him and more than 5 seconds to teammate Brad Binder. A weekend that should not be wasted, even if there is a break on Sunday.

The former Ducati rider was impressed with Acosta and at the end of the Portuguese GP he acknowledged the superiority shown by his brand colleague (using a KTM bike).. “He ran a fantastic race and I had no chance against him. As soon as he overtook Binder, he started to push the bike. Brad and I were panting trying to keep up, but there was nothing we could do.”

Jack Miller could learn from Pedro

Miller was a little surprised by Pedro’s riding style. “He’s not ‘in’ the bike very often, he’s often out with his body. He touches the ground with everything, at some point it seems like he’s going to do it with his head too. His style is impressive, especially If you look at it from behind, I can only wish I could have raced like this, maybe I was a little less elegant.”

Jack Miller has several years of MotoGP experience under his belt, but he knows he can still learn by observing his teammates, including Acosta himself. “We’ve improved a lot at KTM in the last 12 months and he’s taken advantage of that. Now we have to use him as target, trying to understand what he did differently and learn from it. I’m 29 years old, but I’m still learning in every race. My riding style has changed a lot from 2016 to now, but not enough and I have to keep improving it.. ”

The two-time world champion only needed a little time to find the feeling and speed with the RC16, watching it on the track and also looking at the data could be useful for Jack and Binder. Even though they have to be a reference and he has to be a young learner, with this, Pedro Acosta is a phenomenon that will be written in the pages of MotoGP history.
