RiderTua.com – Finally, MG Motor launched another new car in Indonesia, namely the VS HEV. Unlike previously where they released electric cars or BEVs, this SUV model is available as a hybrid car. MG Motor sells the VS HEV for IDR 389 million. This makes the VS HEV one of the cheapest hybrid SUV cars in Indonesia.
MG Motor Sells VS HEV for IDR 389 Million
From its design, the VS HEV looks very sporty with its three-dimensional grille design, and interestingly the rear of the car is made similar to the front fascia. This model is actually a different version of the ZS, even though they both use a similar platform. However, MG Motor designed the outside and inside to look different from each other.
VS is equipped with a sunroof, 12.3 inch headunit, digital AC, and wireless charger. Other features such as i-Smart, which is a mainstay feature for MG Motor, are also provided for this model, which can notify users about vehicle status and even voice commands. Hill start assist, ABS-EBD brakes and electronic brake assist are standard safety features on the hybrid SUV.
New Mainstay in the Hybrid Car Market
As a hybrid SUV, the VS is equipped with a 1,500 cc petrol engine with 107 hp and 142 Nm of torque, as well as an electric motor with 177 hp and 200 Nm. When combined, the car can produce 284 hp of power and 342 Nm of torque, quite powerful for an SUV like this. Even with all this equipment, MG Motor sells it for under IDR 400 million.
However, unlike the ZS EV and 4 EV, the VS HEV is still imported directly from Thailand in CBU (completely built up) form. But that is not a problem for MG Motor, especially since this is the first time they have sold a hybrid car in Indonesia. With this, they are expanding their environmentally friendly car line-up here, not just limited to BEV models.
