Honda Will Assemble Hybrid Cars in Indonesia?

RiderTua.com – So far Honda has only sold two hybrid cars in Indonesia, in the form of the CR-V and Accord variants. However, both have received a good response from consumers since they were first launched. However, Honda plans to continue expanding its environmentally friendly car line-up here. They are even interested in producing one of their hybrid cars.

Honda Continues to Strengthen Its Hybrid Car Line-Up in Indonesia

Sales of hybrid cars in Indonesia are still quite good, with 50 thousand units sold last year. Honda is one of them, even though they have only sold two models, namely the CR-V and Accord e:HEV, both of which were imported directly from abroad. But at least these two environmentally friendly cars are welcomed in their respective markets.

Because both are imported in CBU form, Honda is starting to consider assembling its hybrid cars in Indonesia. Of course, so they can offer environmentally friendly products at more affordable prices. The problem is which model will be assembled, considering that the CR-V is no longer produced here since entering its latest generation model.

HR-V e:HEV?

Honda can consider this, and they can choose a hybrid variant for cars ‘which are in high demand in the market’. It is strongly suspected that the model in question is the HR-V e:HEV, considering that this compact SUV has many fans in Indonesia. Moreover, its sales performance has been quite good in the last few years after the third generation model was released.

Apart from that, the HR-V has had a hybrid variant since it was first released, both in Japan and Thailand. Of course, all of this could be a consideration for Honda to assemble it in Indonesia, even though they haven’t confirmed it. Not to mention they still have to study the potential of assembling a hybrid engine at once.

The HR-V e:HEV could be a good choice, although it will probably be more expensive than the RS trim. But at least this model can be sold more affordable than the CR-V e:HEV.
