RiderTua.com – The MotoGP weekend at Jerez was very positive for Ducati with three riders on the podium and a constructive test for the Desmosedici’s rear wheel vibration problem. Ducati again dominated three podiums in the final MotoGP race at Jerez. Pecco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi took the top three positions, Monday’s test was no less important in ending some of the fundamental problems with the Desmosedici GP24. The vibrations in the rear tires disappeared during the Spanish weekend, also thanks to an unusual working method that took advantage of the free practice schedule.
Ducati Problem Solved They Have Found The Solution
In pre-season tests and the first three races of the 2024 season, the factory Ducati team complained about vibration problems that prevented it from showing its best performance. At Jerez, the red team adopted an innovative way of testing, due to restrictions in terms of wildcards and private testing dictated by the new MotoGP concession system. Friday at the Jerez GP was used to provide useful data to the technicians and find solutions. “We used Friday as a test and it was very useful. We tried more things than usual and we didn’t feel any vibrations,” explained Pecco Bagnaia after Sunday’s win.
In the factory Ducati garage, they focused on different settings that can help on circuits with less grip, where the vibrations mentioned above appear more often. Work is also with the aim of Catalunya, the schedule on the MotoGP calendar is scheduled for 24 to 26 May. It appears the problem is resolved, although further confirmation is still needed. “We have to wait to find out whether we have resolved the problem,” added the two-time MotoGP world champion. Racing style also has a big influence, with changes in slope when cornering which can bias when moving.
Currently Jorge Martin, the leader of the standings despite recently having an accident at his home race, looks more optimistic and firm. “We have tried several solutions that can help and make us even faster. I am very pleased with the performance and progress we have made.”
