RiderTua.com – Former rider Neil Hodgson emphasized, “Marc Marquez to the factory Ducati team? I don’t see it right. But why don’t they want Marc to ride their bike?”
As is known, not everyone in the paddock thinks Marc Marquez is the right choice for the factory Ducati team in 2025. Marc and Jorge Martin are fighting over the bike next to Pecco Bagnaia. Meanwhile, Enea Bastianini currently has the most coveted bike in MotoGP, this season his performance could make him last longer alongside the two-time World Champion from Italy.
Neil Hodgson: Marc Marquez is not right for the factory Ducati team
Regarding Hudgson’s comments above, presenter Suzi Perry replied, “They have opened the door. They have put Marc at Ducati. There are rider who will be able to change positions at Ducati group, you could say because of that. Because there are differences of opinion among Ducati officials, whether This goes against their DNA when it comes to bringing in riders (only young riders). They have brought in Marc, if he can win the world title with factory Ducati.”

Hodgson said, “Why don’t Ducati want Marc Marquez on their bike?”
“It’s like a great game of chess. It’s the most interesting landscape in terms of driver movement,” Perry answered.
Hodgson said that if Marquez did not join the factory Lenovo Ducati team, if a seat was not available, which team would he join? Surely he doesn’t want to stay with the Gresini Racing team on an older bike because of what he experienced this year, even though maybe the bike isn’t as good as it should be? Who knows.”
“Where does he go? KTM? KTM has a lot of very talented riders and the seats are full. There are rumors that KTM wants Marc. With Marc and Pedro Acosta, it really is ‘the dream team’. Brad Binder already has a contract but they could move him to Tech3 GASGAS BTW, I can’t see that happening. So where does Marc go?” concluded Hodgson.
At the American GP Marquez confirmed that he wants a factory bike in 2025. But who will get the GP25, perhaps that is still up for debate. Gresini would love to get a factory-spec bike to keep Marquez, but that seems unlikely to happen. Pramac as well as the factory team, offers access to its newest bike.
And another issue is whether Ducati will break their philosophy of bringing in their own young riders to fast-track Marc Marquez into their official team, potentially angering Pecco Bagnaia in the process.
