RiderTua.com – After Suzuki withdrew from MotoGP in 2022, Alex Rins decided to move to the LCR team in 2023. This meant he switched to the Honda RC213V which had been struggling since 2020. However, the 28 year old rider made an impressive debut with two finishes. in the top 10 and complements these statistics with his victory at the Austin GP last year. However, Rins’ fate suddenly changed in the next three races, when the Spanish rider suffered a complicated fracture in the Mugello sprint.
Rins was absent for almost the entire season before making a comeback by finishing in 9th place in Mandalika. However, he still felt the pain in his right leg, so he decided to rest again. When he made his comeback in the final race of the season in Valencia, Rins was eliminated from the race.
Alex Rins: Our Bike is Very Slow
In his brief appearance for Honda, Alex Rins managed to finish in the top 10 4 times including his impressive win at COTA Austin. Then he decided to move to the Yamaha factory team in 2024. In 6 weekend races, so far Rins has only scored points once, namely when he finished 13th in Portimao.

However, the race set-up we chose was a big mistake. Our bike was very slow when changing direction. However, with this setting, the bike became more difficult to maneuver in corners. I “made a mistake at Turn 15, which caused the front wheel to skid and fall,” said Rins.
Currently, Fabio Quartararo‘s teammate is only ranked 19th in the overall standings. “We gathered a lot of information. But we are still far behind. I still believe in this project, but we have to accept what is currently available and what we can do,” concluded Rins.
