RiderTua.com – GWM Tank introduced its flagship SUV in Indonesia last month. Known as the Tank 500, this hybrid engine SUV model is an equal opponent for the Toyota Fortuner et al. It’s just that when compared with its rivals, the GWM Tank 500 is sold for IDR 1.1 billion. Even with this price tag, you can get a car that is equipped with complete features.

GWM Tank Presents Its Flagship SUV in Indonesia

As previously known, Tank is one of three brands brought by Great Wall Motor (GWM) to Indonesia apart from ORA and Haval. Like Haval, GWM Tank sells several SUVs, and this is its target market after appearing for the first time. They present a luxury SUV with a hybrid engine known as the Tank 500.

The design alone looks very sporty, plus the 2,000 cc turbocharged hybrid engine can produce maximum performance. Interestingly, the Tank 500 is equipped with a spare tire placed in the rear door of the car, similar to the Toyota Rush and Daihatsu Terios before they got the latest generation model. This model is equipped with a number of safety features such as blind spot detection, traffic jam assistance, and intelligent cruise assistance.

    Most Expensive Model?

It is not surprising why GWM Tank sells it for IDR 1.1 billion in Indonesia, because the model is classified as a premium class SUV. Not to mention that this model is still imported directly from abroad, so the price is quite expensive because it is subject to import tariffs. So that makes it one of the cars from brands from the Bamboo Curtain country that sells for more than IDR 1 billion here.

In fact, there is another model that is sold more expensively than the Tank 500, namely the MG Maxus 9 (Maxus Mifa 9), which is priced at IDR 1.45 billion. Interestingly, both are environmentally friendly cars that come in CBU models. At least for now, because GWM already plans to assemble cars from its three brands in Indonesia.
