Overall, they collected 2 thousand orders for their newest electric car from consumers, and that was only collected in the first wave. Chery is now starting to send 300 units of the Omoda E5 to consumers who have pre-ordered. Later they will fulfill the remaining requests.
Chery Sends 300 Omoda E5 Units to Customers
Chery car sales in Indonesia have recorded positive results so far, especially with Omoda 5 being the main sales contributor. So far, they only have five models, including the Tiggo 5x and Omoda E5 which went on sale last month. Although the Tiggo 7 and 8 Pro models still receive demand from consumers today.
Meanwhile, the Omoda E5 has been in the spotlight in its market since its introduction in August last year, clearly because the model is Chery’s first BEV. Even though the units were only produced in December 2023 and sold since last month, orders have already reached thousands of units. After the exhibition ended a few days ago, Chery started shipping 300 units of the Omoda E5 to consumers.
Number of Orders Continues to Increase
The hundreds of units that were first sent were the first batch of units for consumers who ordered the model at GIIAS 2023. Meanwhile, other units will follow afterwards, even though they know there are still 1.7 thousand more units that need to be sent. But that’s not a problem for Chery, as long as they do this to meet demand in their market.
Because demand is still very high, Chery is trying to speed up production to fulfill all remaining orders. So far, Omoda E5 continues to be ordered by consumers in quite high numbers. Not to mention that Chery has to deal with consumer demand for other models such as the Tiggo series.
