However, they still haven’t officially sold it, especially with the selling price not yet announced. But it seems that soon Hyundai will announce the official price of the Kona Electric. It is estimated that the price could reach around IDR 400-500 million.
The Latest Generation Hyundai Kona EV will be Present in Indonesia
Despite relying on models such as the Ioniq 5 and 6, sales of Hyundai electric cars have decreased throughout the last month. Of course, this condition cannot be avoided, considering the economic conditions in the domestic market and the instability of foreign market conditions, causing sales to decline drastically. But that didn’t stop him from presenting his newest car.
The latest generation Kona Electric is the next BEV model from the South Korean car brand. Even though this SUV was previously present in Indonesia, the model was still imported from abroad and was an old generation model. This time Hyundai is bringing it back with the latest model, and it is certain to be locally assembled like the Ioniq 5.
Locally Assembled Cars
It’s true that the model hasn’t been launched at this time, but there is already some information about the newest Kona EV. It is stated that there will be four variants available, although the variants are not that different from the Ioniq 5, namely Prime and Signature. Like the Ioniq 5, each variant has different battery capacity options, of course with different selling prices.
Even though it is assembled locally, it is likely that the Kona EV will be sold for around IDR 500 million, or almost the same as the price of the Ioniq 5. But at least the selling price is not as expensive as before, where this model is priced at more than IDR 750 million. Moreover, Hyundai no longer needs to import it from abroad.
The launch date has not yet been set, but it looks like the Kona EV will soon be presented in Indonesia.
