RiderTua.com – Subaru and Toyota have long collaborated in developing cars. From Solterra-bZ4X to BRZ-GR 86, all its models are well received in the global market. With the successful development of bZ4X and Solterra, the two will develop three other electric SUVs in the next few years. Two of them will be produced by Subaru, and one model will be produced by Toyota.
Subaru Ready to Develop Another Electric SUV with Toyota
Collaboration between Subaru and Toyota is nothing new, because they have developed four new models as a result of their collaboration. Models such as the GR 86 and BRZ sports cars, as well as the bZ4X and Solterra electric SUVs are models that have been well received by consumers globally. Three of them have been released in Indonesia almost two years ago, except Solterra.
For the electric car, it could be said that the development was quite successful, so both of them are interested in continuing their collaboration. Subaru announced they will develop three electric SUVs with Toyota, and will be launched around 2026, with production starting in 2025 in the United States and Japan.
e-Boxer Engine
To be clear, one model will be produced in Kentucky, United States by Toyota, while the other two models will be assembled at the Subaru factory in Yajima, Japan. It seems that this will provide something busy for Subaru, because they still have six other BEV models to be released until 2028. But all of this is being done to speed up the electrification of its cars.
Apart from electric cars, Subaru will also produce the latest generation e-Boxer hybrid engine which will be produced in the fall of 2024 in Japan, and in 2026 in the United States. Indeed, they are focused on developing electric cars, but that doesn’t mean they ignore other types of environmentally friendly cars. Moreover, the Boxer engine has been a characteristic of Subaru products for so long.
