RiderTua.com – After practicing very well on Friday, the two riders from the Pertamina Enduro VR46 team, namely Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi, managed to advance to Q2 of the American GP together. For Diggia, the sprint race results were less than pleasing. Because on the first lap, the rider from Rome, Italy had to park his Desmosedici GP23 because he experienced technical problems (emitting thick smoke).
This means that Diggia appeared in Sunday’s main race over 20 laps with no racing experience. “Before the race I didn’t have a good feeling. It’s important to always learn something in the sprint for a full distance race. So I couldn’t transfer any data or experience. Plus, the warm-up session didn’t go well either. Fabio Di Giannantonio: Happy to finish 6th in a race like this
Fabio Di Giannantonio achieved a fine result in Sunday’s main race in impressive fashion. The reason is that behind the superiority of the road battle, Diggia managed to climb to 6th position. At the finish line, the former Gresini rider was still making visual contact with the leading riders.

But then he was completely surprised at how well everything went for him. His speed is very high and most importantly consistent, so he was able to catch up with Jack (Miller) and Franky (Morbidelli). Then he got closer to the top. He failed to reach the podium, but he was very happy with 6th place in this race situation.
When Diggia was asked about teammate Marco Bezzecchi, who finished behind him at COTA Austin as in the season-opening race in Qatar? He answered, “Honestly, I don’t really care about that. Of course as a team we talk about it and exchange a lot of information. In general the atmosphere is good, but in the end everyone always tries to get the best result for himself.”
With the third top 10 result in a row and the VR46 team’s best race result at the Americas GP, Diggia said, “Today we can see that we are again close to the top. That’s the best news. It’s working consistently and I’m sure we can make more progress well into the next race.”
In the first 3 series of the 2024 MotoGP season, Fabio Di Giannantonio is in 9th place behind Marc Marquez (Gresini Ducati) and 2 positions ahead of Marco Bezzecchi (11th).
