RiderTua.com – In fact, Honda has a number of electric cars on sale on the market, including the famous ‘e’ model. However, with production being stopped at the beginning of this year, they have switched to making other types of models. Like the e:N1 electric SUV that Honda developed from the HR-V base. This model is finally present in Thailand, but not for sale, but as a rental car.
Honda e:N1 Begins to be Available in Thailand
Environmentally friendly cars are now Honda‘s focus in Indonesia, with the release of the CR-V and Accord e:HEV. Even though they actually have an electric car, they chose to sell hybrid cars first because there are quite a lot of people interested in them. Even though these two models were imported directly from abroad, there are quite a lot of fans here.
Meanwhile, Honda has presented the e:N1 model in Thailand some time ago. As previously known, the e:N1 is an electric-powered SUV based on the HR-V. This model was first shown in the Bamboo Curtain Country, before being sold on the global market to expand its line-up of superior BEV cars.

SUV Electrification
Thailand is the first country to obtain e:N1 in the Southeast Asia region, and produces it locally. However, unlike the HR-V, this model is only available as a rental car at a rate of IDR 12 million per month. Even with its plans to electrify SUVs, Honda is still unable to sell them because it doesn’t want to rush to catch up with its competitors.
It seems that it is true that Honda chose not to rush into selling electric cars in Southeast Asia. Even if they fall behind, they will try to catch up, but now is not the right time to do so. Moreover, they still have to meet the demand for hybrid cars in the market.
