RiderTua.com – Usually Hyundai can record quite good sales results in Indonesia. However, last month’s results did not usually match expectations, with 2.4k cars sold. Even though last year Hyundai was able to sell more than that. They said this was due to a number of factors, from rising car prices to economic conditions in Indonesia.
Hyundai Experiences Decline in Car Sales in Indonesia
Car sales in Indonesia experienced a slowdown last February, and this affected almost all brands here. Hyundai is no exception, which experienced a decline in sales, from 3,003 units in January down to 2,428 units. These results also decreased compared to the results obtained in February last year.
Even though they already knew the same situation would occur as the previous year, they did not expect the decline to be more significant than predicted. Hyundai said economic conditions in Indonesia, rising car prices and other things were the causes of the decline in cars last month. Of course, automotive manufacturers cannot avoid this, especially since the economic situation in the global market is also affected.

IIMS Automotive Exhibition
Meanwhile, in the same month, the IIMS 2024 automotive exhibition was held, and of course many hoped that sales could be increased further. But the results will only be visible a month later, and they are not yet visible from the results obtained in February. Even if there is, the increase is very slight, not to mention the number of causes mentioned previously which have quite a large effect on sales.
Not only conventional or ICE cars, sales of Hyundai electric cars have also decreased. In fact, the Ioniq 5 was knocked out of the top three positions which are now filled by two Wuling cars and the Chery Omoda E5, two of which are still relatively new. If detailed, the Ioniq 5 sold 302 units and the Ioniq 6 only 10 units.
