RiderTua.com – Car sales in the last four months of this year were still quite good, with more than tens of thousands of units sold. However, the decline in results obtained during this period is starting to cause concern. Moreover, car sales last April recorded only 48k units sold. This result decreased drastically from that obtained in March.
Car Sales Decreased 34.9 Percent Last April
So far, car sales in Indonesia have always exceeded 50k units per month, and this can depend on market conditions. On several occasions, results can decrease by more than 20 percent, as happened in 2020. Some think that sales will not decline more than that figure again with the condition of the car market continuing to improve.
However, this estimate was missed and a drastic decline in sales occurred again last April. Throughout this period, only 48,637 units were sold wholesale, and this result decreased by 34.9 percent when compared to the results obtained last March. In retail, the results were also not so good, with 58,779 units, down 28.4 percent from last month.

Lowest Results
Of course, this is the lowest sales result obtained since market conditions recovered from the decline in global sales in 2020. The number of holidays, inflation in countries such as the United States, and economic conditions in Indonesia are a number of causes for this decline in sales. Even the car purchase offers given by car manufacturers to consumers do not seem to be enough to increase sales.
Toyota is still the best-selling car brand in Indonesia with 15,201 units sold, followed by Daihatsu with 9,481 units and Suzuki, Honda, Mitsubishi each selling around 4k units. It seems that only Toyota was able to sell more than 10k units of cars last April.
