RiderTua.com – KTM, a manufacturer from Austria, has just displayed a teaser showing that there is a new superbike that will be launched soon. This motorbike is called KTM 990 RC R, only specifically for track use and is planned to be launched in 2025, aka next year.
As can be seen in the photo, this superbike does not have the equipment that makes it legal for the road, such as the mirrors, turn signals, main and rear lights and the fenders are not installed. Don’t forget that the exhaust area has also been made wider without having to comply with the rules.
KTM says that they are further developing their products by gathering a lot of knowledge and experience from the world of competitive racing, for example MotoGP. One of these products is the KTM 990 RC R with an aerodynamic design and front winglets inspired by the RC-16 racing motorbike.
To be more supportive on the track, the chassis is made stiffer with a special design to increase performance in corners, the weight also tends to be heavy at the front and of course the suspension sector of the WP Apex Open Cartridge is fully adjustable.
But the main thing is in the engine, the 990 RC R is equipped with the latest 2-cylinder LC8c engine, but unfortunately the manufacturer has not yet revealed the engine’s capacity. It is believed that this new engine will have a capacity of 999cc. Don’t forget that the transmission area is specially designed for performance.
Many hope that the KTM 990 RC R will also be present at the EICMA 2024 event in November, which is planned to be ready for sale globally in Q1/first quarter of 2025.
