RiderTua.com – Jorge Martin has always emphasized that he will definitely leave the Pramac team at the end of 2024 either to move to the official Ducati team or another manufacturer. But simultaneously, Pramac’s future as a Ducati satellite team is also being negotiated.

When Martin was asked, what if Pramac changed bike suppliers and moved to Honda? “For me nothing has changed. The important thing is that Paolo Campinoti (team owner) is happy,” said the Spanish rider.

Jorge Martin threatens to leave Ducati if he is not transferred to the factory team. “Currently the most ‘accessible’ factory teams are Honda and Yamaha, but objectively they don’t have bikes as fast as Ducati,” said Martinator.

Isn’t that risky? “Everything is risky but Fabio Quartararo has renewed his contract with Yamaha, for example. This means he believes in the project. But now I only think about racing and doing my best, my target remains to be a factory Ducati rider,” answered the 26 year old rider.

Has Martin talked to other teams for 2025? “No, that’s up to my manager. I’m completely focused on the track. I hope to continue with Ducati, but if that’s not possible then I will race for another official team,” stressed teammate Franco Morbidelli.

In 2023, Martin was overlooked by Ducati in favor of Enea Bastianini to become world champion Pecco Bagnaia’s teammate at the factory Ducati team. Then on the last day of the 2023 season, Ducati offered him a factory seat if he could win the MotoGP world title (at that time Martin was competing closely with Bagnaia for the 2023 world title) to replace Bastianini in 2024.

Martin explained that in 2022 Ducati chose Bastianini based on the results obtained. Last year there was a desire to make this choice (to promote him and replace Bastianini). But it was not possible due to technical problems, there were contracts involved.

“Now everything is open. I know they trust me, but we’ll see whether it will be full trust or not,” concluded Martin.
