Honda Continues to Rely on Brio in the LCGC and City Car markets
If you look at Honda‘s car sales results in Indonesia so far, SUV cars such as the HR-V and BR-V have always been its mainstay. Even so, Brio always seems to be at the top of its sales positions, even with results that exceed those of its SUV line-up. It’s not surprising that Honda has relied on this model in recent years.
Both the LCGC Satya model and the RS city car, the Brio has always been the best-selling model in its segment, even though the Sigra has provided quite fierce resistance to Honda. Still, Brio is the choice in the market even as a 5-seater car, because the selling price is quite affordable. So this model has become a target for first-time buyer type consumers.
Lots of Fans in its Segment
The LCGC segment itself has quite tight competition, even though there are only five remaining models on offer, four of which are products from Toyota-Daihatsu. So Honda only has the Brio Satya in this segment, but its sales have been quite good so far. Although sometimes Brio Satya faces quite tough competition from Sigra.
Meanwhile, in the city car segment, this segment is not as tight as the LCGC, considering that there are quite a few enthusiasts. However, the Brio RS remains the best-selling model in this segment, even with models such as the Daihatsu Sirion and Toyota Agya GR Sport. Unlike in the LCGC segment, these two brands cannot beat Honda in the city car segment.
