RiderTua.com – Friday (3/5/24) FIM, IRTA and Dorna announced that they were forced to postpone the inaugural Kazakhstan GP race which was supposed to take place on 14-16 June between two MotoGP events in Mugello and Assen. The current catastrophic situation in Central Asia is cited as the reason. Unprecedented weather conditions have caused flooding in many areas. This caused a national emergency in Kazakhstan and displaced most of the population.

According to the organizer’s announcement, it is not responsible if MotoGP places additional burdens on authorities or services. All resources are now needed to help the tens of thousands of people affected across the country.

Therefore, the Sokol international circuit will not host the MotoGP World Championship on the previously announced dates. The new date has not been announced, but the official announcement is still expected to take place in 2024.

MotoGP extends its condolences and support to the people of Kazakhstan and all those affected by the floods in Central Asia. MotoGP World Championship organizers hope that affected nations, regions and communities can recover as quickly as possible.
