The presence of the first generation Kicks may not be marked by the release of the pre-facelift version or its petrol engine. On the other hand, Nissan immediately presents an environmentally friendly model that relies on e-Power technology. At the same time, this marks the start of the electrification of cars in Indonesia, because several years later they released the Leaf electric car.
e-Power technology is still relatively new in Indonesia, obviously because Nissan is just presenting it for the first time. Maybe many people think of it as a hybrid car, considering that this environmentally friendly technology combines a petrol engine. But actually the machine is used to provide power to the electric motor.

So the petrol engine is only used as a power source for the electric motor to drive the four wheels. Sounds like how a BEV car works, even with a petrol engine that is maintained like a hybrid car. It’s no wonder why the Kicks e-Power is called a unique hybrid car when compared to other HEV models.
So far, Nissan is still selling this model at a price of IDR 518 million in Indonesia. Meanwhile, there is already a new generation model in North America, but production will not start until next June due to problems with crash test results. Moreover, they still haven’t confirmed whether the e-Power variant will still be maintained in the latest model, or whether it will later be sold on the global market.
