RiderTua.com – It could be said that Toyota is quite capable of maintaining its car sales in Indonesia for several decades. Especially last March, where they were able to sell 21k car units wholesale and 26 thousand units retail. Even with Toyota leading sales, they still have to be wary of their competitors. Especially Wuling and Hyundai which are still in the top 10.
Toyota Sold More Than 20 Thousand Cars Last Month
Car sales in Indonesia last month increased overall by 16.7 percent. The biggest increase was seen in retail sales, while wholesales only rose 5.7 percent. However, with 82k units sold at retail, these results are much better than in February.
Indeed, this is a good result, but it is not enough to provide better results throughout the first quarter of this year. Of course, this was caused by the decline in sales performance during January and February, so that sales decreased by 23.9 percent. Of course, this is not a very good result, but at least car sales in Indonesia have not experienced a worse decline than four years ago.
- Toyota: 21.142 units
- Daihatsu: 16.552 units
- Honda: 10.572 units
- Suzuki: 6.670 units
- Mitsubishi Motors: 6.153 units
- Mitsubishi Fuso: 2.311 units
- Isuzu: 2.251 units
- Wuling: 2.080 units
- Hyundai: 1.812 units
- Hino: 1.651 units

Still Dominate
Toyota continues to maintain its position with 21k units sold wholesale and 26k units retail. Daihatsu and Honda followed with results reaching 16k units and 10k units respectively. Some of them, such as Mitsubishi and Suzuki, can only sell less than that.
Interestingly, Wuling and Hyundai are included in the top 10 list with 2k units of cars sold. It’s not that unusual because both are brands from outside Japan, but the sales results are quite good. Even with tight competition in the four-wheeled market, both of them still record the best results.
