RiderTua.com – Neta is one of the electric car brands present in Indonesia and is still relatively new. Even so, they are ready to produce the model, as well as expand their sales network to strengthen their position in the market. As a brand from the Bamboo Curtain Country, Neta has gone through a decade full of challenges with intense competition in the market. However, as time went by they continued to improve their products and began to be known by many people.
Neta and Its Development in the Electric Car Market
Coincidentally, this year coincides with 10 years since Neta was founded by Hozon Auto. Maybe some people think that Neta is also the name of the company, even though this is actually the name for the car line-up from Hozon. When they were first formed, they were still focused on developing their products, until in 2018 they obtained a vehicle qualification and production license.
So in that year, Neta’s first product was launched, namely the N01, and from the name alone it was clear that this car was the first car from the brand. Two years later, in 2020 to be precise, they released the Neta U and V in the SUV segment. Since then, they have begun massive market expansion in the global market.

Right-Hand Drive BEV Export Center
Southeast Asia, South America, Africa and the Middle East are Neta’s target markets. But when compared with compatriot brands, Neta is the first brand to assemble right-hand drive electric cars. Thailand is the first country in Southeast Asia to be targeted, with production having exceeded 10 thousand units and successful sales there, as well as receiving a number of awards.
Now Neta is targeting Malaysia and Indonesia as its next destination to expand its electric car sales. In fact, they are targeting to become the right-hand drive BEV export center for Indonesia, considering its strategic location. By collaborating with Handal Indonesia Motor, they will assemble their electric cars starting next month.
So far, Neta has had a number of quite tough opponents in Indonesia. Not only from BYD, Chery, to Wuling, but also Toyota.
