RiderTua.com – Kia has only presented one electric car in Indonesia, and even then the model was imported in CBU form. But at least the sales are quite good and are still well received in the market. However, Kia is starting to plan to expand the electrification of its cars in the Southeast Asia region. They are said to be opening electric car production in Thailand in the near future.

Kia will Increase its Electric Car Sales

Kia‘s electrification is still ongoing today, such as presenting various models of its EV series. One of the models, the EV9 GT Line, was successfully launched in Indonesia last year and is still attracting more consumers today. Even though the price is quite expensive, the model is sought after by many people who are interested in its advantages.

Meanwhile, the South Korean brand wants to expand its electric car line-up even further. This includes strengthening its position in the BEV market with the increasing number of new models being launched. They plan to assemble their electric cars in Thailand, so that later they can be exported to other neighboring countries, including Indonesia.

    BEV Car Incentives

Of course it is not surprising to hear about Thailand, because this country has a very fast developing environmentally friendly car market. Moreover, with incentives for all types of cars, both hybrid and electric, so many manufacturers sell environmentally friendly models there. Apart from that, this also encourages more brands to build their electric car factories in Thailand.

I don’t know when Kia will start producing electric cars, considering they are just about to start. Including what model will be assembled later, whether the EV6 or EV9 model. What is clear is that they are ready to immediately start assembling their BEV models in Thailand, and they could start at any time.

Meanwhile, the electric car market in Indonesia continues to grow rapidly. Especially with the increasing number of new brands coming here such as BYD.
