RiderTua.com – Hyundai car sales in Indonesia are still quite good, especially from its electric car line-up. Both the Ioniq 5 and 6 continue to record good sales results, even though competition in the market is getting tougher. However, recently Hyundai announced a recall of its two electric cars in Indonesia. This is done to provide updates to the car software.
Hyundai Recalls Ioniq 5 and 6 For Software Update
The electric car market in Indonesia continues to grow rapidly as time goes by and more and more new models are released. Old players such as Hyundai continue to rely on models such as the Ioniq series until now, with two models it has sold. The Ioniq 5 is relied on in the SUV segment, while the Ioniq 6 is in the upper middle class sedan segment.
Still, even though it has been on sale for a long time, they still have to provide updates to the electric car. Hyundai then recalled the Ioniq 5 and 6 to get a software update, specifically for the ICCU (integrated charge control unit) software. This is done in order to provide more optimal charging.

Not a Serious Problem
It may sound quite trivial, but this update benefits users so that car charging can be better than before. Moreover, this update has been released by Hyundai principals globally, and Indonesia is also included. Of course, Hyundai will not charge any fees to get this update for Ioniq 5 and 6 owners.
So far, demand for the Ioniq series in the BEV market is still quite high even with the increasing number of competitors in its class. Hyundai has known about this for a long time, but they are quite happy with the number of rivals selling electric cars in Indonesia. Because in the end Indonesia will no longer be left behind other countries in terms of car electrification.
