RiderTua.com – Jack Miller ‘s place in the Red Bull KTM team is hanging in the balance. Because sensational rookie Pedro Acosta has the potential to move to the factory KTM team in 2025 and his teammate Brad Binder already has a contract with the Austrian manufacturer for next year.
After winning MotoGP races with Honda and Ducati, the Australian rider clearly wanted to be like Maverick Vinales, who managed to win with three different manufacturers (Suzuki, Yamaha and Aprilia. However, in fact, he had a difficult start to the 2024 season and was ironically beaten by Acosta. The 2023 Moto2 world champion is brilliant, able to beat top riders like Miller and Binder on several occasions.
If Acosta does replace Miller at the Red Bull KTM team, then the former Ducati rider will look for other opportunities in 2025. So what could be the options for Miller?
If Jack Miller Leaves KTM Because of Pedro Acosta, Where Will He Go?
The first option, move to the GASGAS satellite team. Although Jack Miller does not want to move from the factory team, within the team he will receive an RC16 with the latest specifications that regularly shows its competitiveness. Miller has a good relationship with KTM so if he moves to GASGAS he can continue his MotoGP career with the Austrian brand, while providing the satellite team with a top rider with a wealth of valuable experience.
Apart from that, the GasGas team led by Herve Poncharal seems to be a very well managed team that creates a good environment for its drivers to perform at their best. Something that could be interesting for Miller who is one of the top riders in MotoGP.
The second option is to act as a KTM test rider. Like Pol Espargaro, Miller can choose a job as a test rider. But that was most likely his last resort. On several occasions, the 29 year old rider has shown how competitive he is.
And if a team wants to sign him then they will be getting a driver whose potential has yet to reach his peak. Because KTM has the best test rider lineup, namely Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaro, the opportunity to move to become a KTM test rider will be very small.

The third option is to move to Superbike. Although the switch from MotoGP to Superbike will be a step back for Miller, the level of riders in WSBK has been the main reason why the series is more competitive than ever.
Superbike racing is sometimes just as good and exciting as MotoGP. Additionally, it is likely that Ducati and Yamaha are interested in Miller and are able to offer a very competitive package, so perhaps he will be in a position where he is able to fight for regular race wins and even world titles. Several riders have moved from MotoGP to WSBK in recent seasons with great success, and Miller could be the latest if he chooses this option.
The fourth option is to move to another factory team. Factory seats at Ducati, Aprilia and Yamaha do not seem to be an option for Miller, but it is currently unclear whether Joan Mir will stay at Repsol Honda. Therefore, Miller could be a very realistic option for the Japanese brand, which needs as many top riders as possible to return to competition.
Miller already has experience riding a Honda in MotoGP. Although abandoning the KTM in favor of the RC213V will likely result in a loss of performance, Repsol Honda could give Miller his only chance to remain a factory rider.
The fifth option is to move to another satellite team. As is known, Joe Roberts has been widely linked with the American team Trackhouse Racing after making a good start in the 2024 Moto2 season. And if the Aprilia team wants to overhaul its team, Miller could move and become a teammate of the young American rider.
If Repsol Honda continues with Joan Mir and Luca Marini, Miller could choose to join Honda at the LCR team as Takaaki Nakagami is unlikely to stay for the next season.
With Pramac possibly moving from Ducati to become a Yamaha satellite team, the signing of Miller could be a major coup for the team. Because it is impossible for Miller to move to the Monster Yamaha team after the manufacturer from Iwata, Japan extended Fabio Quartararo’s contract and so far seems satisfied with Alex Rin’s performance.
