RiderTua.com – After finishing 3rd in Sunday’s race at Jerez, Marco Bezzecchi is confident things will go better from now on. After carrying out Monday’s 8-hour test in Jerez, the VR46 Ducat rider emphasized, “We tried a lot of things in terms of set-up and my sitting position on the bike. I felt some good things as well as some bad things, in the end I put everything together good and the bike is good.”
However, Bezzecchi was only in 13th position, 0.5 seconds behind the fastest rider in the test and teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio, who recorded a best time of 1:36.405 minutes.
Marco Bezzecchi described the apex as his biggest weakness, although he rated the test as positive overall. He said the excellent track conditions due to the weather and the previous weekend’s race, had more than just advantages.
“The track is too fast, we have never experienced conditions like that in a race weekend. Whatever we try, we always find something and get faster. This makes it difficult to understand, what is better or worse about the bike. At least “We set a very good time,” said the rider from Rimini, Italy.
Vito Bezzecchi’s son managed to climb the podium (3rd place) for the first time this season at the Jerez GP. Currently Valentino Rossi’s riders academy members is only ranked 9th in the overall standings after the first 4 series of the 2024 season.
Bez said that at Le Mans he will see if he manages to take a step forward, as the team is on the right track. He had found ‘something’ in the warm-up on Sunday morning, the bike had never felt so good at Jerez. Now Bezzecchi has great confidence, but he is not completely happy.
