RiderTua.com – During Monday’s MotoGP test at Jerez, Maverick Vinales realized that his two Aprilia RS-GPs were not working the same way. In Sunday’s main race, the Spanish rider used a bike that was not suitable for the Jerez circuit. “We have to identify several areas on the bike that we can improve, especially the brakes,” said Vinales on Monday afternoon.
After celebrating two wins at COTA, Vinales lost badly at his home race in Jerez. He crashed in the sprint and only finished 9th in the main race. Monday’s test is for problem solving and analysis.

Maverick Vinales explained that his time was very good but sometimes out of rhythm. He missed something over the weekend and needs to understand why. Saturday the bike worked very well. Especially in Sunday’s race, that didn’t happen.
Aleix Espargaro’s teammate discovered that there was a difference between the bikes. “Unfortunately I was racing on a non-competitive bike. This reminded us to pay attention to every detail. On Saturday I crashed on bike A. To be safe, I then used bike B. We didn’t realize that bike B worked differently,” said Papa Nina.
In Monday’s test, Vinales experimented with new parts on the rear of the RS-GP. However it is not enthusiastic about aerodynamic solutions and will continue with the tried and tested. However, almost no improvement can be expected from this Jerez test.
“We don’t have new spare parts. But we played a lot with the engine power distribution, which might also help us at the start. For us, it’s very important to start from the front row or at most from the second row. For us it’s complicated, even if we start well. We have to build a bike that allows me to be super fast in one lap,” concluded the rider nicknamed Top Gun.
