RiderTua.com – KTM test rider Dani Pedrosa recorded historic success at Jerez. With a sprint podium on Saturday (finishing 3rd), he became the first test rider since Katsuyuki Nakasuga to achieve a MotoGP podium at Valencia in 2012. But unfortunately, in Sunday’s race Dani failed to finish because his front wheel slipped on the wet track on lap 4.
Starting from 16th position was not ideal for Pedrosa. However, with a good start, the 38 year old racer was able to compete and advance to 12th position in the first few laps. “I want to establish a good rhythm that will be enough to enter the top 10,” he said.
Dani Pedrosa : If I could choose, I would reduce the aerodynamics

Daniel Pedrosa’s race ended at Turn 8 on lap 4. According to him, the track conditions were not perfect, there were several more wet spots. If a racer passes it, it will crash. “That’s the reason I fell, because suddenly the front slipped. I didn’t force myself and was more focused on reaching the finish safely. The crash happened in a fast corner. It hurt a lot, I hit my left elbow. There is no injury, but I need time to recover ,” said the Spanish rider.
BTW, 3 Ducatis swept the podium at Jerez this time with Pecco Bagnaia successfully winning the race ahead of Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi. Meanwhile, Brad Binder, who finished in 6th position, was the best KTM racer.
The test will take place in Jerez on Monday. Will Dani Pedrosa also take part in the test? “No, Pol Espargaro will do the testing. I will return to KTM in Italy in June,” said the rider nicknamed Little Samurai.
MotoGP will introduce new rules for 2027, final details of which will be published soon. What does Dani Pedrosa want to change? “If I could choose, I would reduce the aerodynamics. Fewer devices and racing aids mean that racing skills will play a bigger role again,” he concluded.
