RiderTua.com – Suzuki may be the only brand that sells two city cars in Indonesia, namely the S-Presso and Ignis. Both imported from abroad, both are sold at quite affordable prices. Suzuki recently presented a discount for its city cars, but only Ignis got it. Not only that, Honda and Daihatsu also do the same thing with their superior models.
Suzuki to Honda Present City Car Discounts
From Suzuki, the Ignis gets a price cut of IDR 34 million, but it only applies to the 2023 model year production, while this year’s model only reaches IDR 27 million. I don’t know what makes Suzuki only provide discounts for the Ignis, while the S-Presso doesn’t. Even though both of them have been mainstays in the city car segment in Indonesia for some time.
Meanwhile, Honda is also offering a discount for the Brio RS, even though it’s only IDR 10 million. Then Daihatsu offered a discount of IDR 15 million for the Sirion, and perhaps this is quite surprising considering that the model is almost rarely seen in the market. Because Sirion almost doesn’t have high enough popularity when compared to its rivals.
Demand Still Exists
But only these three brands offer discounts for their city cars, while Toyota with the Agya GR Sport doesn’t get any offers. In terms of sales, the Brio RS is still far ahead of its competitors in its class. In fact, the sales results so far have contributed to Honda, apart from the LCGC Satya model, the results of which are also counted.
The demand for city cars in Indonesia is still there today, although there are not as many fans as other types of cars such as SUVs or MPVs. But at least the demand that still exists has convinced manufacturers to continue presenting the model. Moreover, Honda and Suzuki each have their own superior models.
