RiderTua.com – The MG4 EV is one of two electric cars sold by MG Motor in Indonesia apart from the ZS EV. Even though it comes as a hatchback car, the design is sportier and is supported by features that are quite complete for a similar model. The MG4 EV and ZS EV have been available since last year, but were only assembled locally at the beginning of this year. However, since then sales have increased drastically.
MG4 EV Becomes Third Best Selling Electric Car in Indonesia
Sales of MG Motor‘s environmentally friendly cars in Indonesia are still largely helped by its electric cars, namely the MG4 EV and ZS EV. For the ZS EV, this model was released before the 4 EV, and even then it was initially imported from abroad in CBU form. Before finally MG Motor assembled it in Indonesia since the beginning of this year.
With the model being assembled locally, the selling price is more affordable. This is what made the MG4 EV sell well throughout the last three months of this year, with sales in March reaching 246 units. These results make it the third best-selling electric car in Indonesia during that period.
Still the Flagship Car
Of course, this is quite a satisfying result, even with a very large difference compared to the ZS EV, which only sold 31 units. Despite these results, MG Motor doesn’t seem to think too much about its electric car sales targets. At least they have succeeded in presenting their first locally assembled environmentally friendly car in Indonesia.
Apart from the MG4 EV and ZS EV, MG Motor has also just introduced a hybrid car in the VS HEV model. Even though it is not locally assembled like the two electric cars, the VS HEV will fill a market that has not yet been entered by its products. As well as adding more choices to his line-up here.
