Brad Binder : MotoGP is Now Difficult for Beginners, but Not for Acosta

RiderTua.com – Brad Binder said that currently a MotoGP rider’s debut is more difficult than when he made his debut in 2020. Therefore, Binder praised his brand partner Pedro Acosta, a rookie who is on the rise in MotoGP this year. Brad Binder was a highly anticipated newcomer when he made his MotoGP debut in 2020 with the factory KTM team, having won the Moto3 title in 2026 and arriving in the MotoGP premier class  as Moto2 world runner-up in 2019. The South African rider has demonstrated his abilities from the first race at Jerez in July 2020, and then took his first win with KTM just three races later, at Brno.

However, Binder considers that things were easier for him as a rookie than they are now for newcomers. Binder remembers when he first joined MotoGP and experienced difficulties in the first test. Then in the first race he thought He was super fast. And in the end he often fell. But he also remembers going around the track, he always felt like he could beat everyone, that he was doing fun things. Then Binder realized that they were actually saving tires or something.

All new riders can expect surprises along their journey. “But I think in the beginning it’s always fun to race against riders we admire. I really like it, it’s fantastic. Of course, now I think it’s more difficult than when I was, that’s for sure. But it’s very beautiful and it’s definitely an adventure ,” continued the rider from South Africa.

This comment was Binder’s praise for his brand colleague Pedro Acosta, who made his MotoGP debut with KTM. The Spaniard achieved his first podium in the premier class a week ago, in the second race of his career, in Portugal. Acosta is already considered a potential generational talent and Binder highlighted that what the 19-year-old Spaniard is doing in the RC16 is very special.

Binder said that when Acosta overtook him, he was going fast… He was really special. When everyone sees him race, everyone will understand how good he is. The way he controls the bike and maintains incredible speed through corners and beats them well. He’s a true champion, so Binder takes his hat off to him. He truly deserved that podium, he said.

Acosta’s arrival makes Binder excited. Binder sees the collaboration with Pedro as a good opportunity for himself and the KTM project. Binder believes one of his greatest fortunes as a rider is always having a teammate who motivates him. He always had powerful neighbors in the garage, this could be seen as a blessing or a curse. But for him it was always a good thing. “So, I’m sure together we can continue to push and try to continue this project.”
