Martin started his 4th season in MotoGP by winning the Qatar sprint race. Then managed to secure the 3rd podium losing 1.933 seconds behind winner Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Brad Binder (KTM). “I can’t complain. I’m very happy. If you ask me on Saturday, I won’t see myself on the podium. I’m happy with the result. I think our potential is even greater. But it is what it is. We have shown that we are competitive and that very important,” said Martin.
Jorge Martin : Must duel in two fierce battles
Jorge Martin had to work hard to get this 3rd place, because Marc Marquez (Gresini Ducati) was getting closer to him in the last third of the race. “I had to duel in two fights. On the one hand I wanted to catch Brad who was in front of me and on the other hand I had to defend myself against Marc who was behind me. So I had to take a bigger risk. I thought about attacking Brad on the lap last, but it was too dangerous,” Martinator explained.
The 2023 MotoGP runner-up is now ranked 3rd in the World Championship.
